Hi, I'm Leigh. In the other thread I was looking for musicians for a solo thing.
But my other band, The Cause, is just out a drummer. We split due to him being in two other bands and just plain out artistic differences. (Aint it the way?)
So, what The Cause do is this: We play fund raisers in and around the community and surrounding places. We've played the past two Art's Alive festivals that Stone Academy holds at Stone Park. We've also played fund raisers for Habit for Humanity and, recently, raised $2,500 for Union University in Jackson, TN that suffered damages from a tornado.
The music we play is covers (mainly) and span the genre's of classic rock, blues, and boogie music. Basically, stuff that people can recognize and/or have fun to. Some songs we do:
The Thrill is Gone (B.B. King)
Sweet Home Chicago (everyone )
The Seeker (The Who)
Heartful of Soul (The Yardbirds)
Sunshine Superman (Donovan)
Mustang Sally
Baby Whatcha Want Me to Do (Jimmy Reed)
The Blues is My Business (Etta James)
These Boots Are Made for Walking (SCOTS style)
C'mon Billy (PJ Harvey)
One More Cup of Coffee (Bob Dylan)
And tons more!
It's a low key affair. About one practice a week, running about one-two hours. The gigs aren't constant so it's flexible with anyone's working schedule (when you're not in like 15 hundred bands lol) and the folks that you'd play with are easy going, cool, kind hearted folks.
To hear a sample of what we do, go to www.youtube.com/drewp66 This was our other drummer's YouTube channel and he had uploaded some video from a gig we had played last year. Now, that's not the half of what we do. (And it's The Cause videos, by the way.)
You can email me, Leigh, at: QueenLennon@aol.com or Jimmy at JBloozeman@aol.com just put in the subject line something about wanting to try out for the drumming position in The Cause.
Thanks.
